Terms of use - Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training
These terms of use relate to how the Directorate of Education and Training collects, processes, and uses personal data from registration and participation in our e-learning courses. All users must accept the terms of use before they can use the Directorate for Education and Training’s e-learning courses and learning platform.
Data controller
The general manager at the Directorate of Education and Training is responsible for the processing of personal data. Efaktor AS is the data processor. The Directorate of Education and Training and Efaktor AS have entered into a data processing agreement.
Personal data to be processed
We process the personal data you provide: name, e-mail address, an overview of course certificates, course and grade history, and IP address. The purpose of the processing is to provide users with training, to document completed training, to request post-evaluation, and to send course certificates. The personal data is collected when you register on the portal via the ID gateway, update your profile, and complete courses.
You must register and provide the necessary personal data in order to set yourself up as a user and take part in the courses. We also process the personal data in order to be able to produce anonymised user statistics. The statistics help us to see how many, and which types of user groups, make use of the courses and the number of course certificates that have been issued.
We will not share, sell, transfer, or otherwise disclose personal data to third parties. Course managers only have access to the personal data associated with the course for which they themselves are responsible. Only Efaktor AS, which operates the solution, and portal managers at the Directorate of Education and Training have access to all personal data.
Your personal data will only be processed in Norway.
Legal basis
Information such as your name, e-mail address, overview of course certificates, course and grade history, and IP address are required in order for us to fulfil our agreement for the purchase of training. The legal basis for this processing is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), article 6, no. 1, letter a.
Storage and deletion of personal data
The Directorate of Education and Training deletes users after 12 months of inactivity.

Your rights include the right to:
- information about how your personal data is processed
- demand access to your own personal data
- demand the correction or deletion of your own personal data
- demand that the processing of your own personal data be limited

- complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
You can contact the data protection officer via your profile page in order to exercise your rights.
Security measures
Satisfactory technical, physical, and organisational security measures have been put in place to protect the personal data covered by this agreement against unauthorised or illegal access, amendment, deletion, damage, loss, or loss of access.
